  • 👇🏻When it comes to Spanish decodable books, it’s important to know that they’re not all created equal. Families ask me all the time what books I used when my kids were first starting to learn to read in Spanish. As a Spanish teacher and a homeschooling mom to bilingual kids, I’ve taken it upon myself to thoroughly research and purchase every single Spanish and bilingual decodable book on the market over the last six years. I’m not going to lie, it wasn’t looking good for a while! Initially, most Spanish early reader books I found were just poorly translated versions of the English ones. But then - I found the Spanish Decodable Books from @justrightreader - FINALLY Spanish early readers specifically and thoughtfully designed for Spanish speaking kids. Using the Science of Reading, these books are a serious gem for kids learning to read en español. They aren’t just translated versions of English books, they are written specifically in Spanish for young readers. Each book also has QR codes linking to 2 minute videos with Spanish phonics lessons! I honestly don’t think teaching my kids to read in Spanish this past fall would have been as successful without these decodable books. Their single take-home packs are perfect for homeschooling families and co-ops - and they’re back in stock and better than ever! Teaching our kids Spanish takes time, consistency, and dedication. That doesn’t mean we can’t make it fun though!
