Includes:

  • A 200+ page workbook filled with fun, hands-on, and engaging lessons for kids
  • An easy, open-and-go format with fully scripted lessons in both Spanish and English
  • A detailed scope and sequence that outlines each week and shows how lessons align with state standards
  • Printable alphabet tracing cards for letter recognition and handwriting practice
  • Original mini-cuentos to support early reading and fluency
  • Weekly video suggestions to expand learning and deepen engagement

Before you begin:

This curriculum is best suited for kids ages 5–7 who are ready to begin reading and writing in Spanish. It’s designed for children who already understand spoken Spanish and can recognize most letters of the alphabet along with their corresponding sounds. If your child still needs to build that foundation, we recommend starting with this workbook before diving in.

Kindergarten Language Arts FAQs

Caminos Bilingües uses a syllable-based approach, common in Spanish literacy instruction. Children first learn vowels, then consonants, and begin blending using CV (consonant-vowel) syllables. The curriculum builds fluency through syllable blending, word building, and reading short sentences, with plenty of repetition and visual support.

Each week follows a consistent and supportive structure to help both you and your child feel confident. Lessons begin with a parent overview that outlines the week’s goals and tips for teaching. You’ll find a short and playful Spanish rhyme or poem, a suggested video to deepen learning, and a mix of parent-guided lessons and independent worksheet pages. Each week also includes optional hands-on activity ideas to reinforce key concepts in a fun and meaningful way. The structure is open-and-go and flexible—designed to grow with your child and fit into your unique homeschool rhythm.

Not necessarily. Each week includes several core activities and worksheets, but you can choose how to pace them. Many families do 3–4 focused sessions per week, while others spread it out daily. The open-and-go format makes it easy to adapt to your family’s rhythm.

If your family doesn’t follow specific grade levels, this curriculum can still be a great fit. While it’s aligned with Kindergarten standards to highlight common academic benchmarks, those standards are simply a guide—not something you have to strictly follow. The suggested age range is 5–7, but it can also be helpful for older children who need to strengthen their foundational Spanish literacy skills. Just keep in mind that the early weeks begin with reviewing single consonant sounds, so it may feel very basic at first for an older child—but the pace picks up as skills build across the year. The lessons are designed to be flexible and easy to adapt to your child’s unique learning journey.

Curriculum FAQs

You don’t need to be fluent, but you should feel comfortable reading and understanding simple Spanish instructions.

Many families choose to grab the digital version for flexibility and order the printed workbook for ease—you can absolutely do both!

Caminos Bilingües uses Latin American Spanish throughout the curriculum. While I currently live in Spain with my family, I’ve chosen vocabulary and phrasing that reflect the Spanish spoken across much of Latin America, so it’s accessible and familiar for the majority of bilingual families in the U.S.
