  • Want to call Santa and leave him a message? Did you know there is an English hotline AND a Spanish one?! Even though my kids have always known Santa isn’t real, we still love to pretend! They were blown away yesterday when I dialed the Spanish Santa hotline 😅 it was an amazing motivation to get them to leave him a message en español. If your child is still learning Spanish, help them think of what they want for the holidays in Spanish so they can call and leave a message! You even get the chance to listen to the message after. This is a free hotline and is such a fun thing to do this holiday season. Have you called?! Let me know how it goes 🤩
  • 👇🏼My favorite Spanish books for winter and the holiday season Time to bust them all out y’all! Winter books, Christmas books, Kwanza books, Chanukah Books…find all my favorites in Spanish by commenting: TISTHESEASON (all one word!) and you’ll get the info sent straight to your inbox 🙌🏻 Now the real question is…do I wrap all of the holiday/winter books I have and do an advent surprise with them? Is it worth it?
  • 👇🏼Full tutorial and info I started making these three years ago and I LOVE getting these out every season. They can be Christmas trees or just a tribute to our lovely winter conifers - either way it’s the perfect season for them. Kite paper seasonal crafts are a favorite way for me to decorate, teach my kids a craft, and boost our Spanish. This craft goes perfectly with the upcoming episode of my Spanish podcast for kids ¡Hola Nature! Where we learn all about conifers 🌲🤩 Want the full tutorial?   • So often we focus on CVC blending (consonant, vowel, consonant) and many kids struggle with this. There are smaller steps you can take before you jump right into blending words from individual sounds, and syllable blending is an awesome place to start. Pick easy two syllable words (Spanish is FULL of them) and use the simple hand motion of holding each syllable in your hands as you say them, then bring it together when you blend the word into one. I feel like English learners don’t do this as much because we don’t learn with syllables as much as we do in Spanish (due to its syllabic nature) - let me know if it works well for your English learners too! Using @heggertypa bilingual phonics book here and loving it! We follow up this lesson with work in my Reading Con mi Familia workbook and then some Spanish decodable books from @justrightreader 🤩 Any questions about bilingual kids learning to read in Spanish first just 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼
